The 2026 City of Mural Community Festival has officially wrapped up, leaving Bay City with three beautiful new murals that celebrate creativity, community, and the power of public art.
Each mural tells its own story while contributing to our larger vision of transforming everyday spaces into places that inspire connection, conversation, and civic pride.
A New Welcome at Calypso Wine Bar
One of this year's featured projects is the newest mural inside Calypso Wine Bar, created by returning artist Ben Harrison, better known as Zaxerl.
Ben has been part of the City of Mural Community Festival since 2023, and each year he continues to leave his artistic mark on Bay City. His newest installation transforms the interior of Calypso Wine Bar into an inviting space where art and community naturally come together.
Visitors can now enjoy locally crafted food and drinks while surrounded by original artwork that celebrates travel, culture, music, and connection.

Refreshing a Historic Landmark
Another exciting addition this year can be found at the Historic Masonic Temple, where returning mural artist Sergio Arce created a series of murals that breathe new life into the building's entrance.
Sergio has supported the City of Mural Community Festival since its very first year in 2023. His passion for public art and community engagement continues to inspire everyone who meets him.
The new artwork creates a warm, welcoming experience for visitors while honoring one of Bay City's historic landmarks. Through thoughtful design and vibrant colors, the murals help bridge the building's rich history with a renewed sense of creativity and community.

A New Chapter for the Friendship Wall
The Friendship Wall also received a fresh new mural this year by artist Jamie.
Since its introduction, the Friendship Wall has become a symbol of collaboration and community participation during the festival. Jamie's artwork continues that tradition, creating another colorful destination where residents and visitors can gather, take photos, and celebrate the spirit of togetherness that defines the City of Mural Community Festival.
The Friendship Wall is an ongoing community art project, and we're always looking for artists who would like to contribute their creativity.

Public Art That Continues to Grow
Every mural added through the City of Mural Community Festival represents more than paint on a wall.
Each project is the result of artists, property owners, volunteers, sponsors, donors, and community members working together to invest in Bay City's future. Public art creates welcoming spaces, supports local businesses, encourages tourism, inspires young artists, and tells the stories that make our community unique.
Since launching in 2023, the City of Mural Community Festival has continued to grow each year, bringing together nationally recognized mural artists while creating opportunities for local youth, volunteers, and residents to participate in the creative process.
As we celebrate the completion of this year's murals, we're also looking ahead to the future. With continued community support, the City of Mural Community Festival will keep transforming walls into lasting works of art that celebrate Bay City's history, diversity, creativity, and sense of belonging.
We invite everyone to explore the newest murals, support the local businesses that host them, and continue following the City of Mural movement as we work together to create an even more vibrant Bay City.
If you're an artist who would like to become part of this growing movement, we'd love to hear from you. Join us in creating the next chapter of Bay City's public art story.
