Memory of Love:
A Collective Journey of Grief and Remembrance
The Memory of Love project is a traveling art installation designed to guide our community on a collective journey of grief, remembrance, and healing. Through this powerful and emotional artwork, we aim to honor the memories of those we’ve lost. The project provides a space for people to grieve together, share their stories, and begin the healing process. It serves as a reminder that while grief is deeply personal, healing can be collective, and the memories of our loved ones continue to live on through shared reflection and support.
2024 Fundraising Event

How It Works:
The Memory of Love mural, a moving tribute to love, loss, and healing, will travel to various participating local businesses, creating public spaces for community reflection. Here's how the project unfolds:
-
Mural Hosting: Participating businesses will host the mural for a set duration—either 1 week, 2 weeks, or 1 month. Hosting fees are tiered depending on the length of time. All funds raised through hosting will support the project's continued efforts to raise awareness for grief counseling and mental health initiatives.
-
QR Code for Connection: A QR code will be attached to the mural, inviting visitors to scan and contribute personal stories, memories, or thoughts about their loved ones. These shared contributions will be collected and displayed on our website, www.unitedwego.org, allowing people to view, connect with, and draw comfort from others' experiences. This growing tapestry of collective grief and love will serve as a powerful reminder of the healing journey we can all take together.
-
Donation Collection: Each host location will also feature a donation box, allowing visitors to contribute funds to support local grief counseling programs, mental health services, and community wellness initiatives. The donations will help ensure that the community has access to the support they need during times of loss.
Bringing Healing to the Public:
The Memory of Love mural provides a collective space for grief and remembrance. It encourages people to reflect on their personal losses while also offering opportunities to connect with others in similar situations. By sharing stories and memories, we create a sense of unity and collective healing. The public art installation brings people together to honor their loved ones, share their experiences, and take steps forward on their healing journeys—together.
